Frequently Asked Questions

Is Duolingo accepted for the Visa?
Yes! Ireland was one of the first countries to accept the Duolingo English Test (DET) for both university admission and the study visa. Check your specific university's score requirement.
Is it hard to find housing in Dublin?
Yes, extremely. There is a housing crisis in Dublin. We strongly advise students to book student accommodation (like Uninest, Aparto) at least 4-5 months before arriving.
Can I bring my spouse?
Generally, no. Spouses cannot accompany students on a standard student visa. However, once you secure a Critical Skills Employment Permit (work visa) after graduating, your spouse can join you and work immediately.
